These from from places like top secret Headquarters to clandestine underground tunnels which are among the eerie places on this earth. Here we have a list of some of the sinister places around the world that you can only visit through Google Maps.

1. Snake Island, Sao Paulo

Snake Island is known as one of the world’s deadliest island as the place is loaded with venomous serpents. This deadly island is located around 90 miles away from the City of Sao Paulo. Scientists have estimated up to 4000 snakes live on this 110 acre island.

Snake Island or Queimada Grande, is the home of the golden lancehead, the most venomous viper in the world. Its venom is capable of melting the human flesh! This island has now been banned by Brazilian Navy for Civilians.

The Vatican Apostolic Library commonly known as The Vatican Library is one of the oldest libraries in the world. The Vatican Secret Archives was the part the library secluded at the beginning of 17th century. It’s archives are located in the Vatican City and it is the central repository for all the acts promulgated by the Holy See.

Since the Pope is like a Sovereign of Vatican City, he owns the archives until his resignation or death. This library is not accessible to all, only a few sacred people or scholars can get a pass to the vaults. However, if you want to read any of the books which are perhaps owned by the Pope, you can receive the manuscript through mail.

Are 51, is the America’s worst kept secret, it is a pseudonym for the United States Air Force base. This “secret” place is located in Nevada, about 80 miles northwest of downtown Las Vegas, U.S. There is a huge military airfield in the centre of this base.

The current primary purpose of the base is unknown to the public, however, according to the historical evidence, it is the base for research and development of experimental aircrafts and weaponry. Intense secrecy surrounding Area 51 has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories that say the base is the central component for the analysis of aliens and the UFO.

North Sentinel Island is one of the many islands of Andaman located in the Bay of Bengal. Most of this island is forested and surrounded by the coral reefs. The deadliest Cannibal tribes, known as the Sentinels, reside on this island. The population of this group of indigenous people is estimated to be around 50-400.

The Sentinelese rejects any contacts with the outsiders, and they are the last tribe who have remained virtually untouched by the modern civilization. Attempts to make contacts with this tribe is very dangerous. People who have tried to make contact, have been met with hostility, being attacked by stones and arrows when they try to go close to their area.

Located in the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen, Svalbard Global Seed Vault is a secure seed bank that is home to 250 million crop seeds shipped from gene banks worldwide. The estimated construction cost of this vault exceeds US $ 9 million. It was built out of fear of the world coming to an end might come true. You are not allowed to enter this place unless you’re a plant breeder or designated researcher.

The Church of Our Lady Mary is located in the town of Axum in Tigre Province, Ethiopia, and it is the most important church in Ethiopia. This church is merely impossible to gain access to as it is claimed to contain one of the most important biblical object like the original Ark of the Covenant.

The original Church was built in 4th century AD by Ezana, the first Christian Emperor in Ethiopia since then it has been built several times over. History reveals that the Ark was brought to Ethiopia with ‘Menelik – I’ after he visited his father King Solomon.

Mezhgorye is a closed town that is located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. Whatever happens in this town of Russia remains within it. It is supposed that locals of this bizarre town work on some highly top secret programs in the region of Mount Yamantaw. It is also alleged that it must be a location of a nuclear program, a bunker in case of war, and a huge depot for coal or a repository of Russian treasures.

8. Lascaux Caves, France

Lascaux Caves was discovered by the Archaeologists in South West France, Lascaux. This complex of caves is approximately 17,500 years old and it is world- renowned for its Paleolithic cave paintings. The cave was open to the public view but now it’s been closed just to preserve the original art work.
