Here, the drive itself is the destination. This is a list of the most fun stretches of road in America that are designed to make you want to never stop driving.

1. Cherohala Skyway, Tennessee and North Carolina

Cherohala Skyway is stretched between Tennessee and North Carolina. This 43 miles fantastic road connects Tennessee, Tellico Plains to Robbinsville, North Carolina and when compared to the tail of the dragon of 318 curves, Cherohala’s turns are big sweepers than tight and wimpy curves.

This drive is all about the million dollar views; after all, North Carolina is the most expensive road. Well, if your car needs some rest, gaining 4000 feet elevation, there are many spectacular hiking spots to relax.

2. Hocking Hills Loop, Ohio

If you want a thrill- ride that will scare the hell out of your friends in the backseat changing their tune after the roller coaster roads of Southeast Ohio, at the foothill of Appalachia, then this is the place you need to drive. The trifecta of roads in the Hocking Hills from the loop that has enough turns and twists to Detroit auto Manufacturers.

The dipping pathways are the gear head secrets. Most of the auto manufacturers come to test their newest rides and take notes of it. Here the scenery is also great.

3. Kancamagus Scenic byway, New Hampshire

Root 112 runs 27 miles between Conway to Woodstock, New Hampshire. Kancamagus winds around the White Mountains elevating you to 3,000 feet through the twisting and turning route. But avoid going on this route during the summer and spring as there is going to be a heck lot of traffic during this time of the year, if you want to cruise through the route. Beware of the moose as they traverse across this route.

4. Farm- to- market 170, Texas

Rio Grande in Far West Texas is also known as the Big Bend Country. It is here, FM 170 you will feel closer to Mexico as you can probably smell the freshly baked tortillas in the air and listen to some Spanish AM radio stations while you are driving.

This route goes to some of America’s most beautiful landscape, as well as some of the loneliest routes. The dry weather here can make the clear view sky heavenly but be cautious on this route as it has the Texas’s steepest paved grade and curves.

5. U.S Route 550 ‘The Million Dollar Highway’, Colorado

U.S. Route 550 stretches from Bernalillo, New Mexico to Montrose, Colorado and the route between Silverton to Ouray that is about 25 miles in Western Colorado is called as the Million Dollar Highway. This route is also the part of San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway.

The section between Durango and Silverton, the skyway slackly parallels the Durango and Silverton narrow gauge railroad. Though the entire route is called million dollar highway, the fact is its only 12 miles from South of Ouray to the narrow lanes, steep cliffs and lack guardrails.

6. Denali Highway, Alaska

Denali Highway also referred as Alaska Route 8 is lightly traveled, and is the gravel highway in the state of Alaska, U.S. This route was opened in 1957 and it was the first roadways to Denali National Park which is now known as Mount McKinley national park, the Denali route is 135 miles in length. The route stretches from Paxson on the highway to Cantwell on the Parks highway.

7. Seven Mile Bridge, Florida Keys

The Seven Mile Bridge is the most popular in the Florida Keys, in Monroe County, Florida, U.S. This bridge was one of the longest bridges in existence when it was constructed, and it is one among the many bridges on US1 in the keys, where the road is referred to as the Overseas Highway.

This amazing bridge connects the Knight’s Keys which is a part of City of Marathon in the middle keys, and to the Little Duck Key in the lower Keys.

8. Highway 1, Big Sur, California

This major north- south state highway runs along some of the most breathtaking U.S. Coastlines. This beautiful route runs along the Pacific Coastline of the state of California. This route is a true All- American Road. About 90 miles (140 kms) stretch of this route from San Carpoforo Creek passes through various Coastal parks and winds through the cliffs of Big Sur.

It reaches Big Sur by crossing San Carpoforo Creek south of Monterey County line. So this road goes through a redwood forest in the Big Sur River Valley.
